Victor Oliver, the seventh child, was born at the family farm home at New Sweden. He married Clara May Turner at Burlington, Iowa. Clara's father was James Turner and her mother was Minnie C. Martens, both born in Galena, Ill. Mr. Turner was custodian at Parsons College for many years, and Clara was born on the Parsons College Campus. The house has since been torn down.
Vic and Clara lived in Fairfield a short time after their marriage and then moved to Lockridge. They built their home in 1916 and lived there all their lives. Vic was a carpenter by trade. He served on the Lockridge school board for a number of years, and on the Jefferson County Board of Review for 16 years. They were both members of the Augustana Lutheran Church in Lockridge.
This couple found rest at the New Sweden Lutheran Cemetary.
