Selma Christina Sodergren was the fifth child in the family but the first to be born in this country. She was born at the farm home in New Sweden and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Selma became the bride of John Alof Danielson. the son of Albert and Lottie Danielson who lived in the same area. They were married at New Sweden and lived at Lockridge until 1913, when they moved to St. James, Minn. They farmed there until 1920 when they again moved, this time to Fosston, Minn. They were active memebers of the First English Church in Fosston. Selma and John farmed until they retired and moved into Fosston, where John became a night policeman and Selma did some babysitting. Their health was good until the last, and both enjoyed travel. Just before John's death they made a visit to California, visiting their family for 2 months. He did some gardening as they had lived in cold country and he really enjoyed planting a garden in January!
This couple found rest at the Rose Hill Cemetary in Fosston, Minn.
